Tommy Rockz

Tommy Janos — better known by his artist name Tommy Rockz, or as Destruction Derby — is a German DJ-producer and event organizer. Born in 1984 in Romania, he has Hungarian roots. He moved to Germany with his family as a child and currently lives and works in Dortmund, Germany.

Tommy Rockz is best known for his primary style, Schranz/Hardtechno. With his high-energy music, powerful rhythms, unique skills, and mixes, he has made a name for himself in the Schranz/Hardtechno scene. For years, Tommy has maintained close ties with other artists and event organizers in the scene, and he continues to actively tour with international and domestic performances — both as a solo artist and as a member of the duo Destruction Derby.

His DJ career began in 2004, when he learned the craft on vinyl records and performed in local clubs in Iserlohn, Dortmund, and the surrounding areas. Inspired by the hard, driving sound of Schranz/Hardtechno and Hardgroove/Techno, he started producing and releasing his own tracks in 2007, establishing his place in the local club scene.

Over the years, Tommy Rockz has performed at numerous well-known clubs and festivals both internationally and domestically. His sets are defined by an energetic blend of hard beats, driving rhythms, and pulsating basslines that keep the dancefloor moving from start to finish.

As a producer, Tommy Rockz has released several tracks and remixes under the name Destruction Derby, as well as solo under the name Tommy Rockz, earning recognition from a number of Schranz/Hardtechno labels. His productions are defined by a distinctive sound: powerful kicks, fast tempos, dark atmospheres, driving snares, and a wide range of wild effects.

Currently, Tommy Rockz is primarily active as a DJ, while also playing a role in the Schranz/Hardtechno community's event scene — collaborating with various organizers and artists and providing advisory support.

With his unique style and deep passion for Schranz/Hardtechno, Tommy remains a recognized, defining figure in the scene. His performances and sets promise a captivating, intense club experience, transporting audiences into a world of driving beats and energetic music.
